Both Pakistan and Sri Lanka teams have won one and lost one out of their two matches and both Asian teams are in the bottom half of the points table, but to register a win in the contest the Asian sides will have to get their team combination right. Pakistan made an inspiring comeback, beating England, who are the firm favorites to win the tournament. Likewise, Sri Lanka suffered a one-sided 10-wicket defeat against New Zealand in their first match on Saturday and they were fortunate to register a win against Afghanistan despite ordinary performance in their last encounter.
There is a prediction of rain from the morning at 9 AM itself and the forecast won’t change throughout the day It won’t be surprise if the match gets abandoned. The temperature will be around 13 and 16 degrees Celsius. The humidity will be 90s but is expected to come down gradually.
Bristol pitch is good for batting and a high-scoring game can be expected. Only seven out of the 17 completed ODIs were won by the team, batting first. Teams may wish to field first after winning the toss. The DLS method also needs to be kept in mind due to weather condition.
Pakistan moral is high after winning their opening match against England. Imam-ul-Haq and Fakhar Zaman are in decent form but need to convert their starts. Babar Azam has looked good as well. Asif Ali and Shoaib Malik will be hoping for a better show the next time.
Pakistan bowling department, Mohammad Amir has been their gun bowler thus far with five wickets. Wahab Riaz has also been able to spit venom. Hasan Ali’s form is a worrying factor though as he is yet to get a wicket in the WC.
